Nissan Pathfinder

Towing, Spare Tire, Storage
The ball hitch is full size (2”) and the vehicle is very capable of towing a trailer. The spare tire is found below the rear storage area (lift up the carpet). The rear door needs to be slammed with a little extra oomph or the door ajar light will come on.

Leather Interior, Ceiling Leak, Power seats
The leather interior is in good shape. You can see the biggest flaw in the leather here: two cracks on the side of the driver’s seat. Also visible here, the floor mat on the driver’s side has some stains because when it rains really hard, sometimes water leaks from the ceiling. It drips just to the right of the driver’s seat. I’m not sure why. The power seat adjustments work well.

Tunes! Manual Transmission, Heating
Here’s a view of the center dash area. I had a new stereo system installed around 2011-ish. There’s a USB port where you can plug in your smartphone to play music or talk on speaker phone. The CD player works too. Unlike those newfangled touch screens, you can push all the buttons and feel them click. The heater works. The seat heaters do not work.

The AC does not work
The air conditioning doesn’t work and my mechanic says there is no easy way to fix it. In my opinion this is the main downside of this car.

Lights!
As far as I know all the lights and blinkers are working well. Upon prepping the car to sell I noticed this little crack / ding in the driver’s side fog light.

Rubber stuff
The all-weather tires are good in snow and have plenty of tread left. Every 3-6 months you might find the rear passenger tire needs air. In a few spots the rubber seals around the doors are sagging and falling out. I haven’t investigating fixing this.

Windows and Doors
Here’s another view of the interior leather. The passenger window can be sluggish rolling down and up. I have never had it get stuck but it threatens to. The other windows work well as far as I know. There’s a power sunroof but I haven’t used it in years.

Rear interior
The seats fold down if you want to throw your bike in or sleep in the back. It works great for car camping! The interior has been kept fairly clean throughout the life of the car and was recently vacuumed just for you. I had a dog years ago and a few of his hairs can be found but not many.

Check Engine Light
It’s always on and that’s just normal. It has been that way for years. The dealer and multiple mechanics have looked at it. Bonus: almost a full tank of gas!

Another Bonus: Moss!
This car has been living outside in the pacific northwest for 15 years and therefore, it comes with a little moss and pine needles stuffed into its cracks. I find it charming and adorable and I hope the new owner does too.

Keys and rust
There are two keys for the car, one of which has a wireless remote attached to it. The remote recently stopped working and likely needs a new battery. The power locks all work. The only rust I know of on the car is pictured here.

Little cosmetic defects
As seen in the other pictures and this one, there are some minor cosmetic defects.

Maintenance / Function
In the last decade, I have only driven the car 200-500 miles per year, mostly errands back and forth to Hood River. I only have been getting the oil changed 1-2 times per year. I recommend Greentree Auto in Hood River. It was last there in February 2023. They replaced the mass airflow sensor, did a front brake realign, machined brake rotors, cleaned and lubed caliper slide pins. They also serviced transfer case fluid. They identified a slight oil seep and recommended watching it, possibly reseal if it gets worse. I checked the oil yesterday for the first time since and it was fine, topped it off a little for you.

Front View / Battery
When I don’t drive the car for months, sometimes the battery goes dead. Since I put it on a trickle charger, I haven’t had a problem. My recollection is the battery is only 2-3 years old. If you’re driving regularly, I think you won’t have this issue.
